As Elise Gerard is putting on a long gown while getting ready to give a tour of her plantation, a man appears out of nowhere, laying across her bed. Reed Blackwell woke up from a sound sleep with a woman standing in his bedroom. He demanded to know what she was doing there. Then he looked around the room and noticed things had changed. It didn't take long for him to discover that he had traveled forward in time to 1994.

Elise wouldn't believe his story if she hadn't seen him appear in front of her. As she helps Reed acclimate to his new life, they begin to have feelings for each other. And when Reed disappears just as quickly as he appeared, Elise vows that she will find a way to travel back to 1844 to find Reed.

This time-travel story was just okay. Parts of the story were interesting, but some of it just plodded along. When Elise figures out how to go back in time, she discovers that Reed has no memory of his time in the future. So, she makes elaborate plans to get him to remember her. I think it would have just been easier to tell him the truth. My rating: 3 Stars.
