This is one of the most poorly written books I've ever read. I'm frankly appalled by how many people think it's so wonderful. It makes Twilight read like a Pulitzer Prize winner. Speaking of Twilight, this book's roots, shall we say, I didn't think I'd find a more pathetic, self-loathing character than Bella. But, lo and behold, there is Anastasia. I got closer and closer to puking every time she marveled at how such a handsome man could fall for such a plain, boring, ordinary girl like her. Spare me...
As for the sex scenes, yes, there are many. They, too, are ridiculous. I've read a lot of erotica - both cheesy and/or poorly written as well as wonderfully sensual and titillating. This takes the cake for bad erotica. Want to read a more fascinating take on S&M? Read Nine & a Half Weeks. Want to read better, more sensual erotica? Read some Anais Nin.
