This is one of my favorite 'Mommy' books. I raised my two children using the ideas from this book and this copy is for my Son and his Significant Other for the birth (their first child)of their son who is due in Feb of 2012.

When I told my son I had found a copy he was so happy, he remembers the many different projects we worked on together from the pages of this wonderful informative book. From cooking to paper crafts my children were kept busy and happy.

The discussions on what a child like's/needs at various ages is also very important. It's nice to know, especially with your first, that they are right in line with development of others. This knowledge saved me a lot of heartache especially when 'well meaning' family members decided that 'such and such' was not normal. Of coursse they only had girls so how would they know what was normal for a boy. lol

My daughter kept the original we had and has used it while raising her 3 children who are ages 9 thru 16.

I recommend this book, especially this edition(1975)to any new or expecting mom. Later editions are also good, but some of the fun things I felt were important were left out of the later versions.
