I was excited to find a cozy mystery where I would be familiar with the theme, but aside from the familiar skating language from my youth, this book was a disappointment for me. I didn't like the main character at all. She seemed so....flat. There was nothing about her to grasp onto and hang on for the ride.
I couldn't get past how the story dragged on and how Bex (yes, Bex, what the heck kind of name is that? It was actually distracting to me when I was reading. I wanted to email the author and tell her there are baby name books out there that could have helped her with this!) jumped to conclusions that the reader can see are utterly ridiculous.
A book like this usually takes me a day or so to read. I just kept putting it down, and picking it up again, hoping it was going to get better next time. But it didn't.
