Tom Wood's novels about Victor the assassin are surprisingly entertaining and his main character disturbingly likeable, given that he's an unrepentant assassin. Of course, he has his moral side so he's not a complete sociopath, but the fact of the matter is, Wood gets us to root for a character who would kill us without blinking an eye. Pretty impressive. This particular iteration of the Victor story is as entertaining as the previous ones. The plot moves along nicely and there's enough suspense to keep the reader interested. I'm looking forward to the next chapter in Victor's life.
