Book Review of Concise Illustrated Book of Modern Commercial Aircraft

Concise Illustrated Book of Modern Commercial Aircraft
reviewed on

A nice reference book for future pilots and those who like to be able to identify commercial planes when they fly overhead. Each plane gets a concise, one-page summary, detailing country of origin, type, engines, dimensions, performance stats, etc., as well as interesting details about it's history and manufacture. For instance, for the Boeing 767 we learn that it "uses a large amount of advanced aluminium lightweight alloys in addition to compounds of graphite epoxy-bonded particles which offer improved anti-corrosion benefits and resist stress better than conventional materials. . . . Pilots trained on the Boeing 757 or 767 can fly either aircraft without additional training."

A small, nicely useable reference.
