Lucian Sinclair and Raina Sarbanes met at his brother's wedding and couldn't ignore the attraction between them. After a hot night of lovemaking, he left to get her flowers and was in an accident which left him without any memory of that night. He left her a note but it fell beneath the mattress and headboard of the bed and she never saw it. Thinking he just up and left, she goes back home where she discovers she's pregnant and has the baby. Seven months later she comes back with the baby for a baby shower for her best friend who had married Lucian's brother the night she and Lucian met. She is very cool to Lucian never knowing about the accident until one night at dinner with the family. Lucian puts two and two together and confronts her about the baby's father. They are overheard by the family on the baby monitor. Lucian convinces Raina to marry him for the baby's sake but she wants more. After the wedding, she flies back to New York for her business and he shows up six days later. She tells him she is going to Italy for her business for six months and he goes out and gets drunk. He wakes up in her apartment and remembers their first meeting. He races to the airport and barely catches her before she boards her plane. The climactic scene at the airport has the whole place applauding because he finally said what she wanted to hear all along.
