It began with a CIA operation, an experimental program in mind-spying. Then priorities shifted and the PSI Project was no longer considered essentil. But Samuel Hunter wasn't about to abandon the project. Not when he could use his three young recruits- Summer Mann, James Powell, and Kate mimeaux-for far more than spying.
But when Hunter tried to make summer into his personal assassin, coworker Michael Hastings has had had enough. So Hastings came up with the Great Wscape. Changing his name to Kevin McConnell, he andhis three charges fled cross-country, losing themselves in Los Angeles.
Kevin knew Hunter would never give up the chase, but for now they were safe- at least until Kevin ran into someone from his own past, Police Detective Lieutenant Daniel Kaufman. Kaufman was willing to protect Kevin's new "family" but wanted something in return-their help. Someone-or something_was killing the special effects people in Hollwood, and the plice were stumped. Kevin's kids might be able to provide the clues the plice needed through their special talents. Still, Kaufman wouldn't have asked if he could have foreseen the deadly jeopardy his request would place them in...
