After Marley and Me, I had high hopes for this book - a kitten left in the book drop, what a great story! However, it was all downhill from there. It feels like a 7th grader wrote the book, lots of repetition (we get it, Dewey didn't like to be petted on his belly!)strange side trips into Iowa history and the head librarians health issues were scattered throughout the story. Felt like they were added to pad the book and add another 50 pages because maybe there wasn't that much story there to begin with? Dewey is certainly cute, but the book was unfortunate.
