OK quick read. He's just out of the service (wounded); she's a single mom. She places and ad for a hired hand/possible husband. Her father changes it to just hired hand. The hero comes looking for the job, they have the "big misunderstanding" because she thinks he's looking for the "husband" part of the job and he's just looking for the job.
