People who enjoyed The Daughter of Time, Josephine Tey's work purporting to uncover the truth of the murders of the two little princes in the Tower of London, should enjoy this. The author has a surprising theory about what really caused the deaths of the young Bronte sisters and their ne'er-do-well brother Branwell, as well as about the authorship of Wuthering Heights. It is presented as a story told by a young girl sent to work at the parsonage as a maid, interspersed with sections in which the author himself shares his reasonings with the reader.
