Kidnapped by Indians when she was little maore than a girl, Katherine Coltrane became the wife of a warrior. Rescued by bluecoats years later, she was force to leave her infant daughter behind. She became a woman alone in a violent world of men. Surviving by her iron will and silken flesh, she carved out a vast cattle kingdom and defended it in range wars that swept the Wyoming territory like wildfire. She found men who matched her strength and passion--frontiersmen, soldiers, outlaws, men who loved her or feared her, but could never tame her pride and independence. Yet Kate never stopped the relentless seach for her lost child--in an epic quest that had to bridge the gap betweeen Indians and whites on a frontier split by savage struggle...

This was a good read about a stronge frontiers woman. Really brings the characters to life. Makes you remember that there really were people like this who gave us such a rich history.
