Book Review of The Royal City

The Royal City
reviewed on + 25 more book reviews

The passions and conflicts of early colonial New Mexico come to life in this richly portrayed novel. The Royal City paints the volatile society of the Spanish outpost of Santa Fe during its most turbulent and dramatic years. Immediately we are caught up in the Pueblo Revolt of 1680, and the tortuous retreat to Mexico of the defeated survivors. No other novel has captured New Mexico's formative days with so much realism, romance and action.
