I found the main character Rachel Knight to be too shallow to enjoy the book much. Her colleague Jake was in one scene in the early pages before he's murdered and the reader's supposed to care? I guess so, but I didn't.

While I felt the insight into an L.A. prosecutor's life was interesting, the thriller aspect of this story was just so-so for me. There wasn't a great sense of "gotta find out what happened" suspense.

However, Marcia Clark does show promise as a fiction writer so hopefully she'll sharpen the skills in future works. This one was pretty average, so I give it a C.
