This is an early (1978) book by Anne Rivers Siddons. It is eerie and scary and set in Ms Siddons usual choice of settings, in affluent suburbia. When a new very modern house goes up in a staid conservative neighborhood, strange things happen to the folks who move in...all of them bad. Even the architect has a black cloud hovering over his head...or is he the cause of all of the problems? Colquitt and Walter Kennedy, live next door to this new house, and they tell the story. Are they crazy or is there a forboding mystique surrounding the house? You won't want it to end!
