It may be that the story of the crime and criminal simply isn't too gripping, but I found this book strangely lacking in interest. Writing was merely OK. I failed to connect with the victim or develop much sympathy for her. And since the information on the killer is also somewhat sparse it was like reading a terribly elongated newspaper account. When finished I felt unsatisfied There were spots where the author went off into things like the history of Kelloggs and General Foods or the locale or American Indian customs. Instead of feeling informed, it felt like the book was padded. Sadly, those spots were some of the more interesting though they didn't advance the story!
