Edwin Anstey died a hero's death in France in 1918, of which his daughter, Laura,had been assured by village people in Anstey Parva. However, all were reluctant to talk about this hero, leaving a secret for Laura to question for many years. Laura was twenty when WWII began, and she enlisted in the ATS, posted to Egypt. She found thought she had found love, but almost too late, realized her heart belonged nearer home. The mystery regarding her father haunted year for many years, and she searches to find him.
