I've had this book on my TBR shelf for some time now. Although I love everything Putney has written, I was in no hurry to read "Uncommon Vows" because of it's time period, around 1148, a period about which I am mostly unknowledgeable. However, once I started reading it, I regretted that I'd waited so long! Such a poignant, heart-wrenching love story! I couldn't tear myself away from it once I got started. Though I was worried about the final outcome of the lovers, they did, indeed, have a happy-ever-after ending. I heartily recommend this book. Once you get started, you won't be able to put it down.
