I do enjoy this series, surprisingly enough, but I have to say this one is the weakest story of the 3 she's written so far. Still, it's entertaining. Fashion designer Bella Bulluci, younger sister of Johnny, who is secretly the superhero Johnny Angel, does not like superheroes or ubervillains as she is tired of the heartache they have caused her in her life with the death of her father. Ironically enough, she has a talent all her own, but it's a fickle and useless one - a talent for luck, both good and bad, that has made her a klutz all her life. So when she meets the ultra-sexy and dashing semi-hero/semi-villain and art thief Debonair, she is quick to deny the attraction she feels for him. Besides, she has a lot to worry about, what with making sure the fund-raiser she has organized for the museum is a success. Unfortunately, at the height of the exhibit, the ubervillain Henchman all but destroys the museum in an attempt to steal the centerpiece, the enormous Star Sapphire, endangering Bella - but Debonair comes to her rescue even as he spirits her and the jewel away for his own reasons.

It's fun to revisit the city of BigTime, and get reacquainted with old friends The Fantastic Five, but Bella's resistance to the chemistry she feels with Debonair because she is afraid of being hurt is an tired old ploy that has always irritated me in typical romances. It's a tribute to Estep's writing skill that I still enjoyed the story and the character development despite that, as she continues to strike the right balance between taking her characters seriously while keeping a tongue in cheek sense of humor about the entire campy world of superheroes she has created.
