Marine Captain Thane Hamilton is a fascinating man to write about. Hes got deep wounds from the time he was a child of a Marine Corp general father, whom he idolizes. His mother, whom he never got along with because she divorced his father when he was only a youth, remains the abrasive salt that continually keeps this wound open and festering.
On a dangerous Recon mission with his 5-man team down to Bolivia to rescue the fourteen-year old daughter of a US senator, Thane Hamilton looses almost everything. Luckily, at the hospital, the registered nurse that is to care for him once the leg-saving surgery is performed, is Paige Black.
Thane must make several wrenching, life-altering decisions that involved three people. What will he do? Will Paiges quiet, enduring love be his beacon? Can he make peace with his past? His father? His mother?
