I picked this up at a book sale, then ordered the first of the series, Araminta Station, from Paperback Swap. Both books contain some of the best, and most delightful conversations. I don't know how Vance can stay so focused on staying true to the language. Anyhow, the societies are complex, but the plot is actually very simple when you take away the language and sociological complexities. Overall, a good read.
