Beautifully written story about Dorothy Gilman's decision and life after she moved to a small fishing village. Self sufficiency was a popular topic at the time and reflected her earlier dreams of living in the woods, in a small shack, and writing. She decided to follow her dreams and shared her journey with her readers.
