After hearing so many poor reviews on the book from a favorite site of mine, I decided to give it a go. The plot does not really get to any point except near the end when the suspense and action REALLY kicks in.

The book itself is not painfully BAD... I believe it is the main characters who ruin the book. Bella is what you would call a "Mary Sue" & she makes a poor decision by being with a guy whom she really doesn't know much about... and even as he is repetively rude to her, she falls for him. It's downright annoying and not fluff at all.

Edward seems to have a bipolar disorder... one minute he is saying he is dangerous, then the next he is saving her.. then telling her to not be around him... then trying to get close... I would never want to see his face again if I were in Bella's situation.

Chapter 13 is my least favorite, due to the excess of it all. I dislike how much Meyer repeats how perfect and angelic this Edward is... And the sparkling skin could have been portrayed more astonishing if she hadn't have already said how wonderful he was 100 times in the last 12 chapters... It gets old really fast.

I do enjoy the ending when the suspense kicks in. I won't give a spoiler, but after the "game" it gets good. I also like Edward's siblings, because they have good personalities.

Overall, it is an OK book.. Edward and Bella just don't go for an attractive romantic couple, though. It ruined the whole "romance" portion of the book for me.
