Norman Cousins a pioneer in analyzing illness by means of the human spirit. He introduced the world to ideas thought by the medical professions are far reaching and farfetched. He slowly changed the minds of many toward a revolutionary way of thinking about health by means of a simple prescription.....taking control of our life. He made it alright to ask questions, seek second opinions or try new methods of therapy such as laughter and hope. When did doctors become gods and healing become a profession? He is a walking example of what he advocated in The Anatomy of an Illness. Both of these books are still national bestsellers in their own right showing they are able to endure the test of time.
