Where there is a sea there are pirates... and Vampirates as well! What a cool concept. Pirates and Vampires! Two subjects I love to read about.
This is the first book the the series and shows a promising start. It's about twins (brother and sister) named Conner and Grace. They live in a lighthouse with their father. They never knew who their mother was. When their dad passes away the are left in the hands of either the orphanage or the town banker. Neither would be a good choice so they decide to hit out to sea to find their own destiny. While out at sea they run into a storm. Both are tossed overboard. Conner is saved by a pirate ship while Grace is saved from a Vampirate ship. There the story takes off with us reading each sibling's own adventure. This was an enjoyable book and I look forward to reading the next in the series - The Tide of Terror.
