Book Review of Jake

reviewed on

While having coffee with friends at a local coffeehouse, I met the author. (His wife owns the coffeehouse.) They are a charming couple, and his book was on display at the counter.
Groves writing style is in the development stages; some parts of the book were too predictable, while other parts had great suspense. And I had some issues with particular word choices. "I distinctively told you..." Is distinctively a word? Shouldn't it be "disinctly"? As a novice writer, I would rate this book, on a scale of 1-5, a 3+. I hope to see more of Donald's writings.
