I found this book, aged as it is, helpful in identifying some new plants that I had received as gifts. One downfall that I found was that the pictures are all black and white, however the pictures were clear enough to tell what they were for the most part. Another is that I believe that there are new houseplants that are not covered in this book. Overall, I would say this is a wonderful book for a novice....hey, the price is not bad!
