Series R Macmillan Reader. Levels 25-30. Student text includes 624 color illustrated pages with over 120 short stories, poems, essays, songs, plays, and biographies. Activities include, but are not limited to developing skills such as classification,characterization, context clues, tables and graphs, unsupported generalizations, prefixes, newspaper usage, evaluation of ideas, multiple-meaning words, drawing conclusions, content-area vocabulary, skimming, map reading, and literary genre. I like the variety of reading material provides as it gives children practice reading and understanding different methods of written communication. The activities included in each section are practical and helpful for teaching and reviewing skills to/with children. I homeschool, and this book was helpful in developing reading for my child.
