Absolutely fabulous book written by a veterinarian about her 4 years of vet school: What it was like, the classes all vet students had to take, the constant work and pressure that they'll never learn enough and could be kicked out at any time if they fail too many tests. Loretta Gage, DVM went to Colorado State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in Fort Collins, CO in the mid-1980's, but little has changed since then in the classes vet students have to take the the huge amount of learning they have to acquire in their 4 years of vet school.
Anyone thinking of becoming a vet or wondering what the learning process is like for a student vet, this is a wonderful book! Well-written, easy to read, full of rich detail and fascinating stories of her journey to becoming a vet. I highly recommend it for a great read that will teach you as in interested layman and give you an even better respect and understanding of what these men and women of the veterinary world do for our animals.
