It took many pages before my interest was engaged in this book. The angst of the lead detective looking into the apparent murder of an intruder by the beautiful wife of a sitting judge did nothing to make me feel more sympathy for him. His partner, a truly good cop who admires him greatly, is nicely portrayed. The action of the plot, dealing with corruption in the judicial system and how the three protagonists have an effect on it, moves well. Once my interest was caught, I had trouble putting down the book. You're in for a good read, PBSers!
