Amanda Sites' father had only one skill to teach her - so she was raised in houses of ill repute and gambling halls learning the skills of a cardsharp. Now, she works on a gambling boat as a dealer with dreams of settling down. During a high-stakes game, she wins a horse farm and adjoining property and is thrilled to see her chance at retiring finally arrive.

The younger son who lost his inheritance however, failed to mention a few things - like his angry, gorgeous elder brother - who owns the other half interest in Amanda's new horse farm, and is none too pleased about his brother's idiocy. From her riverboat dress to her immodest talk, he's decided she must have lured his brother into foolishness - and that she's for sale - and he'll do anything to get the family property back.

Fairly well written - but yet another of those books where the hero is awfully commanding - you know, all that grabbing the outraged heroine for lip-bruising kisses and you-know-you-want-me stuff. I personally find that pretty irritating. I always think she should just take a horsewhip to him until he learns better manners. And, get a lawyer and a foreman to simply take her half interest, never mind the back and forthing with Mr. High Handed. But, as others have pointed out to me...that would make for an awfully short and dull book, wouldn't it?
