"It is estimated that 80 percent of all nurses are directly or indirectly affected by the disease of codependence. Nursing professionals practice in an environment both attractive to and supportive of codependence, which manifests itself in a variety of situations. the authors suggest that current crises in nursing, including high drop-out rates, burn out and stress, are attributable to this life-threatening disease." Very applicable to nurses and today's stressful workplace.
