From back cover - Promised a better life by widower Jack Reeves, lovely Emelita Villa came to Arlington, Texas from the Phillippines as a shy, impoverished 18-year-old mail-order bride. Six-and-one-half years later, on October 11, 1994, worried friends reported Emelita missing.
In their hunt for Emelita, detectives made some grisly discoveries about Reeves's former wives.
I thought this was an interesting book. I didn't know that mail- order brides still happened. I don't think there is such a thing as an average true crime book, because they are true stories about real people. I have much sympathy for the victims, hatred for the criminal, and respect for the detectives. I thought this book was well written and I would read more books by the same author.
