Over a decade ago, a Shosoni maiden loved mountain man Trace McCall, known as the Mountain Hawk. But her father did not approve their union and stole her away---unaware that she was carrying the white man's child. She gave birth to a son, named him White Eagle, and raised him as a Shoshoni. Although she married a a member fof her tribe to provide a father for her son, she never forgot the love she shared with Trace.
Now the U.S. Army is negotiating peace withe the Plains Tribes, including the Shoshonis and their sworn enemy the Sioux. But a war party of renegade Sioux slaughters White Eagles tribe---leaving him no choice but to venture into the world of the white man to find his father.
