Lorraine Dancy's adventures begin when her mother dies and leaves her a letter that implies Lorraine's father isn't dead as Lorriane had been told all her life. He's living in Mexico and Lorraine wants to find him. Her fiance, Gary, doesn't understand her need to go and leave him behind. When Lorraine finds her father, living with his common-law wife and 2 children, it seems that her trouble begins. She's accused of stealing a valuable Mexican artifact and her father's friend, Jack Keller, is enlisted to help her escape. Their adventures are reminiscent of "Romancing the Stone" lore as they jump from one disaster to the next. A great summer read!
