I can't write on the historical content of the book because I have never read it for that context. I bought it for the excellent pics of uniforms and emblems it contains as a reference for both artwork and painting scale models. For that purpose it is an excellent resource.

It has plenty of clear black and white photos of men in actual military situations,and it also contains 50 color drawings of uniforms along with detailed descriptions of emblems and insignias .

If you are an artist of military subjects or a scale model enthusiast, this is a fine book to own.
