This is the 3rd book in the Cowboy series and is my favorite.
Buck had lived with 14 yr old Hannah Grosseck and her family for a period of time and had been badly abused by her father. Buck tried on occasion to save Hannah and her mother from the same kind of beatings that he recieved but Buck was helpless and even more abused for trying to help.
