PUSHING THE LIMITS was so highly tooted by a couple members in my online book club (The Reading Cove) that I was persuaded to check it out even though YA romances aren't really my cuppa.

I'm happy to say that I really did enjoy the beginning. The opening scenes and character development really engaged me and I found the two main characters' stories very compelling.

But as it progressed, and the inevitable high-school pussyfooting began, my interest waned and I found myself able to skim right on through.

Echo (Greek mythology or not, the name just never grew on me!) had suffered memory loss after a mysterious incident involving her mother and I was very interested to know exactly what had happened, so this kept me reading. I also wanted to know how things would turn out for Noah and his younger brothers.

So despite some cheesy dialogue here and there, overall, I do think it was a strong story and I can see why teens and YA lovers would love this one. It's pretty good for its target audience. I give PUSHING THE LIMITS a B-.
