The year is 1320 and the town of Credition is awaiting for the Bishop os Exeter to have a dinner. There is also a band of mercenaries also in the town. A girl is found stuffed in a trunk and then there is a robbery. Simon Puttock, bailiff of Llyford and Baldwin Furnshil, Keeper of the King's peace must investigate.
