Book Review of Dachshunds for Dummies

Dachshunds for Dummies

An excellent resource for whether you are thinking about a dachshund, have found yourself inheriting a dachshund, or have been owned by dachshunds for years. It has enough realistic information that would make one decide also if a dachshund was NOT the right breed for them - they are not submissive lap dogs like some hope.

To its credit, it does not start out as books that have come before with a chapter assuming that you are going to buy a puppy. It discusses the options of adopting a dog from a rescue or a shelter which I give it high marks for. While other dog breed books seem to be the same in the middle on training issues, this is obviously specifically written with dachshund and dachshund mixes in mind.

Like most "Dummies" books, the format is well organized and easy to refer to in moments of doubt.
