This is one of my favorite books ever. Jane Eyre is an orphan whose aunt treats her badly and ships her off to an orphanage. She gets an education there and is hired by Mr Rochester, a very rich man with a home in the country in England to tutor and be the governess for a little girl he has custody of. They fall in love and go to get married and his wife's brother shows up at the church and says they can not marry because Mr Rochester is married to his insane wife locked up in Mr Rochester's attic. On fortunately it is true.I guess they did not have divorce back then.I think this is about 1840's. Poor jane packs her things and leaves since she can not marry Mr Rochester, and she will not live with him. Jane travels about and discovers that she is a wealthy woman who has been left an inheritance. She goes back to see her beloved Mr. Rochester finds his insane wife burned down the house and jumped off the roof and is dead. Her Beloved Edward is blind, but they get married and Jane is so happy. There are a lot of details I have skipped but this book is a great classic and romance.
