Second book in the series, and okay for a new reader to start here. It has always seemed to me that if you have a pyschic character and you want to put them in danger, their abilities had better not be all that great or they would be able to avoid any problems. So I like Cooper's portrayal of Gus the pyschic - sometimes he gets detailed visions or a concrete feeling that says "Go here", but more often it's quite vague. This book seems to drag a little bit in the middle, with a little roller-coaster towards the end as the secondary plot involving Gus comes to a conclusion and then we build to the solution of the cemetary murders. I didn't wholly buy into that scenario - why wait so long, how did the villain get the victims to cooperate so fully - but it kept my attention. Good sense of place and Alex's domestic issue felt unfortunately real. I liked both the books in this series and I'll look for the third.
