Every now and then I find a book of Cornelias essays from the 1950s. Its always a pleasure to reread these; they bring back my high school days in English class: why, I dont know. Yes, I do! A report on Nuts In May was one of the few endeavors on which I did well. That, and coupled with the fact that somehow or other, in one of her invectives she always manages to end up naked in front of an audience of prudes. And, wow, if you fast-forward to today her witticisms are still on the mark and wide open to even more pointed barbs. Any of her books are easy reading, enjoyable, whimsical, and most of all pleasantly nostalgic.
