An excellent ending to a very good series. Minor spoiler - I am pleased to say that all but one of the major characters manage to live through to the end, I was in doubt there for a while. No one who's gotten this far will doubt who dies. I especially liked how Cithrin figured out how to get Geder's cooperation, though it certainly would not have worked without Kit. Cithrin's need to end war entirely was interesting and I wondered if Abraham was going to figure that out, but it doesn't seem like it. And I was surprised they managed to keep the plan secret for as long as they did, I t hought surely Geder would spill it out of spite. And Clara! Who could do what she did re Vicarian! That took an amazing amount of willpower. I wondered why the ones who interacted most with Inys weren't affected by him - Abraham makes comments about humans sort of instinctively acting as servants, which makes sense, but our guys seem more resistant to it. Which led to their plan for Inys at the end, and despite the implications I'm sort of pleased it didn't work. Anyway, excellent series, I will have to look up his other books.
