Starting her life over after her divorce, Shelley Robins begins taking classes at the local college. There she finds her former high school teacher, Grant Chapman, teaching her Government class. Shelley had always been fascinated with Grant, especially after the surprise kiss from him before he quit teaching to begin a career in Washington, D.C. But his career ended in scandal and he is now teaching in a small Oklahoma college. As soon as he recognizes Shelley, he asks her to go for coffee with him. Shelley isn't sure if she's ready to face the man she never could get out of her head.

This story was first published in 1983 under Sandra Brown's pseudonym Erin St. Claire. The style of this story feels very dated. Grant knows that kissing a high school student could get him in big trouble, but he did it anyway. Now, ten years later, he doesn't understand that a teacher can't date a student who is taking one of his classes. How dumb is this guy? Nearly as dumb as Shelley. She tries to keep her distance from him until he starts kissing her...then she can't seem to stay away from him...until she suddenly comes to her sense and runs away. This scenario is played over and over and over. This is certainly not my kind of romance. My rating: 2 Stars.
