The back cover states: "Life does not seem to be going well for Rod Parkhurst. Mom and Dad are fighting more than they every did. Rod is finding it hard to concentrate on his football. And, to top it off, his grades are slipping at junior hight school.

Then comes the big split, when Mom leaves home and Rod and his sister Jodi find themselves living with Dad. Thank goodness for Mattie, the kindly neighbor who really takes an interest in Rod and Jodi.

Just as things seem to have hit bottom, Mattie sugges a Christian sports camp for Rod. That summer marks a turning point in his life, for it is at the camp that Rod becomes a Christian.

After the camp is over, Rod is faced with a number of questions. How can he tell his family about the Lord? How can he change life for them? How will the Lord answer his prayers that his mother return?

How Rod finds the courage to share his newfound faith is an absorbing story and an encouragement to young people and their parents faced with similar circumstances."
