I really like to find something good to say about a book, but the best I can say about this one is that it has a nice cover. I wanted to like it because I loved the idea of a reporter who reports on funerals in a small village. But I had to give up about a third of the way through. It was just too depressing. In the whole village of Gipping, we weren't shown even one likeable character. Even that far into the book, I couldn't get a handle on the plot because it is overshadowed by the main character's constant complaining about anything in sight, her whining about her rival, and her seeming obsession with sex. Throw in a good supply of profanity, and this book is not one I could finish.

This is my personal opinion. Others might find the book "delightful" and "hilarious", as the cover blurbs claim. I'm truly sorry, but I didn't.
