"For better or worse, Elise and Cabot have a great deal in common. They seem to live on borowed time as they share a decidedly blue past, one marked by violent deaths of their respective spouses. While both remember their old lives-the pain of living alone, suddenly-they cling to a new future of love with each other.
But before joyous wedding bells will peal for them, Cabot, a former cop with the Chicago Police Force, must go home again. As best man for his ex-partner, he is looking forward to a happy reunion with his police buddies. Instead, Cabot is confronted with fear, self-doubt, and rage; the pieces left from the accident don't seem to fit anymore.
Will Cabot forever put asunder his troubling emotions? All Elise and Cabot have now is a pocketful of promises, and the guarantee of God's everlasting love."
