A wealthy shipping magnate, Morgan St. James, poses as a lighthouse keeper in Cornwall to discover whether his friend's death was an accident or a crime committed by scuttlers. The keeper of the inn, Miranda Tallant, is from a family of smugglers--is her family at the root of the deaths and shipwrecks? A simple, enjoyable read.
(My favorite line from the back cover: "From his locks of midnight silk to his well-muscled chest rippling with unchecked power, Miranda realized at once that this man was no ordinary lighhouse keeper." Gee, you think? But the book is better written than the publisher's blurb.)
