I must disagree with the review from the reader in Fulton MS. regarding lack of conflict and plot in The Boss's Urgent Proposal. In my opinion, there might have been a little too much conflict, rather than too little. While I was expecting the age difference between Josh and Olivia because the book is part of Silhouette Romance's "An Older Man" collection, Ms. Meier handled the the situation very realistically. More conflict becomes apparent as Olivia tries to make peace with leaving Josh in spite of her long-term attraction to him. The secret Josh is keeping adds to the exisitng conflicts.
I found the plot to consist of three layers; the journey Josh and Olivia take as they resist the love between them, his struggle to deal with his secret, and her inability to deny her desire for him while knowing she must leave him to save herself.
Like the reader from Fulton MS., I would enjoyed more dialog between the characters, but the many conflicts required more narration than some other stories in the Sihouette Romance line. I found Olivia a tad obsessive and Josh a little bit stubborn in a couple of passages, but their behavior was in keeping with the nature of the fears they faced. The Boss's Urgent Proposal met my expectations for fine story-telling and believable characters, something I've come to expect from the Silhouette Romance line.
